2020: Our Year in Review

WHEW! If you’re reading this, welcome. The survivor in me sees the survivor in you. There’s no question that 2020 was a doozy. Unfortunately, in some way or another, I don’t think anyone escaped the effects of 2020. My heart sincerely goes out to those of you who experienced loss of any kind. It has not been lost on me each day how lucky I am to wake up and do what I love here at Anuket Luxury Apothecary, for another day. Despite the hardships of the year, I hung on tightly to the stories of hope, success, and phoenixes rising from the ashes of one of the wildest years in modern history. While it’s so important to acknowledge where we came from and what we’ve been through, I’m a big believer in keeping my eyes ahead and putting one foot in front of the other. This is how I’ve gotten through so many things in my life. This is how so many of us got through 2020. Those little steps add up and I give them so much credit for where I am today. Before we dive headfirst into the New Year, I’d love to celebrate the wins that we pulled out of 2020. Who better to do that with than each of you!?
It’s no secret that there was a massive shift in the way we all did business and purchased products. While I’m so grateful that we have a wonderful e-commerce side to our business, we also did a lot of wholesale to small shops and boutiques before lockdowns started here in the states. I’m so grateful that we had systems in place that made our shift to almost exclusively online a bit smoother but I would be remiss not to thank you, our customers, from the bottom of my heart for continuing to purchase your favorites and support Anuket during a year of uncertainty.
Because of the support of our loyal Anuket family, we were not only able to sustain, but grow! We launched three new amazing products. I am especially proud of our new hydrating hair fragrance in collaboration with the incredible Coquet Modern. We also launched our fabulous luxury beard oil in both a deep conditioning formula and a sensitive skin formula.
We made waves on the airwaves and were featured on multiple podcasts, pitching events, a television spot, and so much more. You can catch up on all those juicy details here!
In the fall, we returned to in-person sales for several delightful weekends at the Ybor Market. An outdoor, socially distanced, vendor market here in Tampa, Florida. It was so nice connecting with customers in person again, putting faces to names and making new friends.
Anuket also welcomed its first team of interns in the last quarter of this year and they have made such huge strides on building out our beautiful blog and social channels. They’ve done a tremendous job at brainstorming creative ways to connect with you and I’m both grateful for their hard work and proud of their growth. Something we really wanted to accomplish was to ensure we were providing you with tons of value and education. If you’re not subscribed to our weekly blog, make sure you do so because there are some real gems here. In 2020 we taught you how to support small businesses, move away from fast fashion, pick a signature scent, love your space more while we’re all at home, and understand the safety of natural vs. synthetic ingredients. As we step into a new year, it's obvious to see that our challenges don’t just disappear with the change of a date. However, a new year lends us an opportunity to collectively examine how we can take what the last chapter has dealt us, use it to grow, and move forward with more strength and knowledge than before. Knowing what is possible and seeing our collective strength and resilience gives me so much hope for this next season. I can’t wait to show you what Anuket Luxury Apothecary has in store for 2021 and I’m so glad to know you’re along for the ride.
