Tips for a Luxury Halloween Gathering
Preparing Your Abode
Let’s start out with a true staple of Halloween - witches! By hanging brooms and witch’s hats in a hallway or gathering space, you will be creating a truly magical feeling in your home. Try hanging them in a line to draw your guests’ eyes towards a seasonal centerpiece or the spookiest room in your house.
Dressing your home with black lace linens can really give it that Addams Family feel. This can be done by finding Halloween linens online and draping them over your kitchen table, side tables, or even the entertainment center.
I personally love the type of black linens that feature spiders and their webs. Try using a linen spray on your lace to give your party a unique scentscape.
Little details are what will really make your theme come together this season. One of the easiest ways to create a haunted house vibe is to set out a legion of candles throughout your home.
I especially love the bleeding candles that I’ve found at Spirit Halloween and other craft stores; these candles appear white, but when lit will run red for an extra special effect.
Another little trick I enjoy using is switching out some of my normal light bulbs for blacklights. This can be done in a table lamp, a bathroom, or hallway to give off an extra creepy sensation.
Lastly, try adding various skulls on surfaces and amongst candles!
My end-all be-all of Halloween decorations is this gorgeous hanging centerpiece I created a few years back. You can begin this spooky DIY project by finding yourself a large stick either in your backyard or local park. Let the stick dry out for a few days in someplace cool; if you live in Florida like I do, this may be a harder task than it seems.
This next part is optional, but if you don’t want pieces of bark littering your home I would suggest sanding the stick down once dry.
Next, take some black spray paint and completely coat your stick - make sure to do this part outside! I left mine to dry for 24 hours on some newspaper inside my home.
After the paint has dried, simply attach some rubber bats with fishing wire at different heights on your stick. Use your fishing wire once again to hang your centerpiece where your friends and family will be able to see it!
Alluring Hors D'oeuvres
Witch’s Caviar
What better way to throw a luxury party than with caviar? Although this recipe itself doesn’t require caviar, nothing is going to stop your friends and family from raving about it. This simple dip from a home chef in Salem, Oregon is sure to become a regular staple for gatherings to come.

Steak-Through-the-Heart Bites
If you’re a meat lover, you’ll definitely love this beef tenderloin dish with a kitschy cute name. Every good party should have a protein-rich shareable to keep the guests satiated, but of course that can also be done with a tasty meat substitute like tofu!

Musubi
Speaking of tofu, this coffin-shaped Musubi is sure to have your vegan and vegetarian friends eyeballing its sheer charm. Vegan Dollhouse does a wonderful job of taking this traditionally Japanese dish and turning it into a vegan friendly, Halloween-themed delight.
Million Dollar Deviled Eggs
This classic dish has always been a favorite of mine to set out at parties. Not only is it easy to make, but the plating is simple and always looks fantastic. If you don’t have a dish specifically for plating deviled eggs, try being a little messy when sprinkling the paprika for that chef’s kiss finish.

Pumpkin Pie Cheesecake Dip
If you like to indulge in a little pumpkin spice during the fall season, you are going to love this pumpkin pie cheesecake dip. Like the author of this recipe, try placing your bowl in a hollowed out pie pumpkin when plating.

Spun-Sugar Cobwebs
Test out your baking skills and wow your friends with these spun-sugar cobweb cupcakes. Margo True promises an easier, safer method than your traditional spun-sugar recipes - but the dish will look great nonetheless!

To Die For Drink Ideas
Bloody Mary Syringes
Serve your favorite Bloody Mary recipe (or use the one I’ve provided), but switch up the presentation with food-safe syringes. This simple Halloween hack will be the talk of the party.

Black Magic Margaritas
This one is for all my tequila drinkers out there! Similar to the last drink recipe, these Black Magic Margs call for your typical margarita ingredients, just add red, green, and blue food coloring to make the drinks fit the season.
If you prefer a smokier flavor in your margaritas, try using mezcal instead of tequila - it’s Ashlee’s personal favorite!

Jekyll & Gin
These glowing gin drinks will really get everyone into the Halloween spirit! Paired with the blacklights in your home, Jekyll & Gins will make for a great photo op.

Witch’s Brew
I absolutely could not leave out the perfect witch’s brew potion for your party. Sandra Lee makes this fabulous drink recipe and adds a little extra special effects by using dry ice.
Always be extremely careful when handling dry ice; it can be dangerous if it comes in contact with your skin.

Bloody Champagne Bellini
Last but certainly not least, the gory and great Bloody Champagne Bellini. This wouldn’t be Anuket Luxury Apothecary without a little champagne! If there’s only one drink you’re planning on trying this season - I would definitely recommend this one.

Captivating Costumes
Black Swan ballerina
A beautiful yet classically eerie costume to put together this year would be a Black Swan Ballerina. The elegance of the ballerina’s dress is bewitchingly contrasted with heavy eye makeup.
For extra impact, try coupling up with a friend to really make this costume stand out.
Catwoman
If you’re looking for a more enigmatic character, try dressing as the not-so-good yet not-so-bad Selena Kyle - aka Catwoman. This always sexy comic book character is easily made up with special effects makeup; however, you could go full on Catwoman by making your costume out of leather.
game of thrones
You can never go wrong with dressing up as Queen Daenerys, Mother of Dragons. There are some great wigs for this character found online and as for the costume itself, you can easily use a sexy blue dress from a thrift store or your own closet!
To put it over the top, try adding an inflatable dragon to “fly” around all evening, and bring along your Ice King too.
insane asylum nurse
Pictured here is our founder, Ashlee Dozier, as an insane asylum nurse for the haunted house she and her friends created in her garage and yard.
A great way to truly scare your guests this year is going all out on special effects makeup. There are some great Halloween SFX tutorials on YouTube for all different spooky looks from the syringe in the forehead that Ashlee is sporting to an eerie Chelsea smile similar to that of Joker’s.
